In this course you’re going to make a classic bifold wallet from scratch, suited for six (or more) credit cards including a paper money pocket. During this full day course you will learn to make the very slim but robust wallet with two types of credit card slots, work with different reinforcement materials, hand stitch with three different approaches, learn how to fold edges, practice three types of edge finishing and all of that with an overall thickness of only 8mm. With the measurement and stitching techniques you’ll learn during this course, you will be well equipped to successfully complete this project and any other future leather goods.

Each step is shown and guided by Christina and then performed by the participants themselves. The informal workshop setting and small group of participants allow a flexible structure so that everyone can go at their own speed and can learn from one another.

About the Teacher

Christina Roth

Christina Roth is a leather goods manufacturer and restorer based in Salzburg, Austria. After setting foot in a saddlery workshop for the first time she was fascinated by the sound of the old wooden floor and the smell of leather. It inspired Christina to start as a leather worker in 2012. After getting all the necessary certificates and qualifications she opened her own craft business in 2018, where she also teaches.

Christina is a real ambassador for her profession as she participated in several television programs (ORF, Puls4) and collaborates as a jury member in competitions. Furthermore she was hired by Domestika, one of the largest online learning platforms, to design a bag making course that was launched in autumn 2022 and was translated in seven different languages.

In 2023 she won an entrepreneurs award for practicing her profession, that is protected in Austria.
